The "New Homeowner" Crostini

This recipe is for us to make for our new homeowner friends! Something awesome you could do for them on their big day is to feed them! You will become the moving day hero. I promise! This recipe is a simple to make, easy to travel, served warm or room temp recipe that everyone is going to enjoy immensely!


  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 cup of chopped sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of chopped Kalamata olives


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle minced garlic, salt and pepper over the bread slices.
  4. Bake the crostini for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  6. In a small mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, basil, sun-dried tomatoes, and Kalamata olives.
  7. Spread a spoonful of the mixture on each crostini.
  8. Place the crostini back into the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is heated through.
  9. Remove from the oven and serve warm or room temp.

These crostini are a perfect appetizer to share with friends, family, and the movers! (make extra!) while celebrating your new home, the combination of flavours will remind you of the Mediterranean and it's perfect delicious finger food on such busy first days.
